How Does Epictetus Distinguish From Other Stocks?

As a Stoic, Epictetus doesn't differ from other Stoics. He differs because he was a harder teacher and kept things as straightforward as possible. And therefore what he's saying is the same as what other Stoics would have said if we had their works if they survived. The way he formulated that core was what I was saying before, some things are up to us and some are not. As far as we know, nobody had ever put it quite like that before him. But he draws out from that everything, which is standard Stoicism anyway.
