In particular, that sort of connected with the idea of attractors. That was an idea that had become popular from dynamical systems theory. You can think about it more mechanically, it's kind of like something where you have a thing, and it's either gong to roll down in one direction, roll down in the other direction. It's going to end up in one stable state or another stable state.
