When I was growing up, one of the things that was really, really common were movies where adults forgot what it was like to be kids and their lives fell apart. You wouldn't say that if you didn't kind of hate your child's self. That's why you think it's OK to hurt and harm kids. It's because you think you deserved it when you were a kid. And those two desires can exist in the same place, but the outcome can't always exist in thesame place.
