The Role of Transparency in Algorithmic Design
I'm interested in what role transparency might play in all this in your view. People don't know how the particular algorithm is working, what it's optimizing for,. How to make sure that they're, you know, their friends see their material. So I think in a complex system, really getting access and transparency into all the tests and data that platforms have would be really important for making the best design decisions we can. And later in the conversation, I want to ask about your thoughts about government regulation. But for now, I'm curious what you think about alternative models of platforms themselves.
