A lot of people felt that this was going to be the instant end of abortion rights in roughly half the country. I think we're seeing right now that there is more diversity of opinion than Democrats would caricature among Republicans. The beauty of our federalist system is that states often get to decide issues, and though different states come to different compromise positions.
