Winter swimming is thought to activate the brown fat ride, but scientists don't know if cold water does that or not. The first year was like a field study for me and I wasn't a winter swimmer when I started this. It feels invigorating And I think I've learned to control the gas reflex and hyperventilation which is what we all struggle with. Occasionally, it feels good in there too. We'll talk about why that's probably not the best idea now.
