CHAPTER

Pushkin's Education

Pushkin was one of the first 30 boys to be admitted to the new Lise at Sarsko Silo. He came into contact with the Zars and Andrew Kahn, who bubbled up in his mid-20s as radical groups. After Pushkin finished school, he moved to St Petersburg because he took up the cinecure in the foreign office. And found himself in an environment in which some of these people were joining literary societies on the left. They had liberal ideas but they wouldn't have voted for regicide.
