Is There a Controller?
Apple devices are known to be sticky. You can do a controller or you can go get one of those cloud managed APs nowadays. Even Eero does a great job, I run Eero at home for my family. And then in my lab, I use the enterprise gear, but yeah, you can use Eero. There's Google mesh stuff. If you hard wire a lot of those, the roaming is pretty good. It's more seamless than having autonomous APs.
