Is J-Point Elevation Related to KATP Potassium Channel Function?
J-point elevation or early repulsation is related to variations in potassium channel function, but the exact mechanism isn't fully elucidated. I was also interested to learn if hyper-acute T-waves from ischemia result from the same mechanism. The amount of extracellular potassium is in fact higher in these ischemic myocardium. And so it's probably all spectrum of changes related to the increased function of this KATP channel.
