Baptism in the Lord's Supper doesn't do anything. The Holy Spirit does things through these material means and fulfills the pledge when and where he will but ordinarily we expect him to bring those who were baptized to saving faith, repentance and faith. We don't say oh I hope that you'll be saved. We use the language of as in the Westminster Confession effectual means of salvation. But it's funny because the Anglican views you heard from the prayers it's a little bit different from what Mike said not a lot different than what Bob is saying either.
