Introduction
Attorney General Elliot Richardson appointed Archibald Cox as Watergate special prosecutor. Nixon was not happy with the choice, calling Cox a "parasite and partisan viper" Cox had worked for John F. Kennedy in 1960 campaign against Nixon. He also invited Ted Kennedy to attend his swearing-in ceremony.
