The Neo-Cameralist Approach to Democracy
The Neo-Cameralist approach has never been tried, but the closest historical equivalents are the 18th century tradition of enlightened absolutism and the 21st century non-democratic tradition. These states appear to provide a very high quality of service to their citizens with no meaning for democracy at all.
