Are We Searching Out the Mystical?

I think that we're pattern-seeking is a good thing to do because patterns are important, but it's very difficult to steer this middle course between being fooled when there isn't a pattern and overlooking when there is. We search out the mystical, or humans do, they tend to do. Do you think that's because of our mortality, that we're always looking for something to ultimately explain that? And I suppose it could be, but I think it doesn't have to be that. Back then, we seemed to be, the youth was fighting for freedom of speech. And sometimes today feels like they're not fighting for the future.
