Plucky's memos reference what he called Russian mercenaries. They were collaborators of the so-called Kaminsky brigade, which is an SS brigade made up of ethnic Russians that was deployed to Warsaw. Together, they were under the command of Heinz Reinfarth, who would commit some of the worst of violence outside of a death camp while in Warsaw.
