Buddhist practice is about attending to phenomena right as opposed to sort of reifying concepts like there might be some practices where you are doing that i'm not totally sure. The temptation is always to say if the normative criteria that it's subject to is less than totally independent of us totally pre-given in the world then it's just all arbitrary yes.
