The Morna and the Death of a Close Friend

Job's wife says, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God and die. Bless being a euphemism for curse because the scribes did not want to write curse God even as reported speech. Three friends arrive to comfort Job and these three friends have been dealt a bad hand themselves. The friends are called Elephaz, Bill Dad and Zofar. And for seven days they sit with Job in silence. This is known as Sitting Shiva.
