Making Sense with Sam Harris

What's the Difference Between Conscious and Unconscious?
When we are conscious, then we're conscious of something. The idea that perception in general works more from the top down, or from the outside in is wrong. In this view, there's nothing that it is to be raw sensory experience at any one time. All perceptual experience is an inference - a process of best guessing. We can use phenomenology to build bridges between what we perceive consciously and what we report on under the hoods. What kinds of predictions do you make about consciousness?
