Bohr Was Unwilling to Consider Alternatives to His Position
Bohr had a set of prior philosophical commitments that he wanted quantum physics to conform to. Bohr was unwilling to consider alternatives even when they were well argued for. And it's quite fascinating because you're used to hear that from, you know, people with strong religious commitments. But here it's the other way around more or less. I'm thinking of Fred Hoyle, who never accepted the Big Bang Theory because he thought it was a crypto-religious idea because he was a strong atheist.
