The Propaganda of the Fire in Central London
In political terms, it became this really important propaganda weapon for both sides. So the Royalists were saying, the fire was an accident, but Charles and his brother showed great leadership on the front line. And whereas the opponents, the Royal family, who are suspicious of Charles and the Catholic tendencies of the stewards,. The people of that agenda were saying, this was an act of sabotage. It was a Catholics. It was the enemies of freedom. And look what they've done. They burnt down the entire city.
