Straight four studios announced a new system for their racing games that uses AI to generate color commentary, which is then read through AI voice synthesis. The commentary will respond to in game events and uses multiple interacting voices to give the impression of an entire commentary team. All of this being done without any actual voice actors working on the game. So it's all just generated. Straight four studios has apparently filed a patent for the idea. Similar to the patent for mini games during loading screens that was granted to Namco, this could prevent other studios from including analogous systems in their own games.
