Boeing pulls production on the 777X in 2022 and this has led to what aircraft manufacturers like to call abnormal production costs. Boeing expects these will total a billion dollars by the time production restarts. Despite all this, it still expects to deliver the first 777X in 2025 pending all these certification steps it has to go through. The 777-8 freighter, which it launched last year, is still expected to be ready to enter service in 2027.
