The Importance of Surviving Texts

Early copies of the Quran were found embedded in the walls. And this was obviously to preserve them, but by accident it also became the best process we have for tech survival and archive. In Judaism, there is the practice of the Ganesa, which is related to this - that any piece of Hebrew text could contain the name of God. We are desperate to archive the past at some level because we know that the past might slip away from it. But digital storage turns out to be much more fragile than we thought it was going to them.
