The Meshika of Mexico
Virtually all o the land in the valley had already been claimed by one city or another. Part of the reason for this is that the meshikas seem to have been a rough bunch. They worshipped a fierce god, a warlike deity known as witzila pocli. Several cities offered to give the mashika food in exchange for their services as mercenaries. But they must have still yearned for a real place that they could call home. After 25 years fighting for other people, the mashika realized no one was going to give them a home.
