The Importance of Literacy Training in China During the Civil War
The GMD in late 1937, they pre-claim a goal of eliminating illiteracy in China within the year. So I want to argue that we shouldn't consider this is a realistic or irrational kind of goal. It can reflect the state's determination and rapid response in coping with the national crisis. And it therefore offered a hope that China would quickly come together as strong nation.
