We evolved to be, I prefer the term a pair bonded species. Pair bonding is one of the strategies. But that doesn't necessarily mean for decades and decades in our lifelong because we often pair bond serially. So get into a relationship that might last a year or five years and then break up and then form another relationship. We engage in serial mating. We engaged in some short term mating. Which particular mating strategy an individual adopts depends on a wide variety of factors. Some depend on your mate value. If you are an eight, nine or a 10, you have more options for what mating strategy you want to pursue. There's a sex difference therein. Namely, if you
