Introduction
PDA activists and leaders are being picked up from their homes all over Pakistan. Supporters of the party are calling it quasi-military dictatorship. But this dictatorship did not start in 2023, it started in 2018. Till people do not see what has happened today as a continuation of the last 70 years, there is little hope for meaningful change in Pakistan. Democracy gaining space does not happen overnight. It is a slow drawn out process. Through politics, compromise and discussion, PPP and PMLN were able to remove 58 law used by presidents to arbitrarily dismiss elected governments. They managed to pass the 18th amendment to the constitution. This is how you win, not by burning a fake pain
