Mahu Pushes His Daughter Into the Water

G'day, I hope you enjoyed this rather short episode. This story comes from Maudy myths and legendary tales by A.W. Reed. The version on the Hawkes Bay website gives a slightly different motivation for why Mahu pushes his daughter into the water. It also adds that Ho knows she's not going to be able to overpower her father and escape. So instead she calls out to the Atua and basically asks them to turn her into a Tani Pha asBasically a means of survival - which they grant. She then tries to escape out into the ocean, which doesn't work.
