The Importance of Ethical Decision-Making
People will ring and talk about their feelings of distress and thoughts about ending their life or harming themselves. It's your responsibility to make a decision in that moment whether to call an ambulance or speak to the person until you can feel that their distress has abated. You've always I find got this niggling fear that perhaps you know something has happened after you hung up the phone and made that decision so it's a situation that happens regularly, she says.
