What Was the University and What Has It Been?
In the 19th century, land grant universities evolved to educate people in techniques of like agriculture and mining. The university also serves another function, which is a tool of nation building as an arm of the state. And so that's when we think about sort of the Fortis University that we think about a massive expansion of access for students who had fought in the wars.
