Mechanism Design and Agent Based Incentives
How do you design a system in which two individuals are both incentivsed to engage with each other in a particular way, such as the prisoner's dilemma? This idea of engineering behavior to a specific end is very powerful. It can be used for modelling behaviour in a system to understand possible negative outcomes and stop them. But tnhe most importantly, that we can also design new systems using these methods in such a way at that is specifically calebrated to the specific needs of users.
