There's obviously no free lunch in the financial markets. If you want to get a return, you have to take an element of risk. Because of that long holding period, you end up carrying a lot of market risk. So they can carry a little bit more risk in order to achieve those higher returns. Typically, you're also looking at a lowish win rate. About 50% is usually about as good as you get.
