The Importance of Courage in Virtue

Socrates says fear is caused not by past or present but by expected evils. Knowing what is rightly to be dreaded, that is when you come up against an enemy that you know will destroy you,. You know to retreat and move forward. But when you come face-to-face with someone who looks fearsome but you know you can beat him... then you need to steal yourself. And move forward. That's almost the full catalog of cardinal virtues I had left out wisdom - temperance, justice, we've got courage on the table.
