We've had a lot of prominent economists who have come out against the plan. The reaction has been so severe because from a market standpoint, it's also been pretty painful. If this situation leads the UK economy to more substantially weaken, that could hit Europe which in turn could hit the US. So there are global ramifications here, even if we aren't necessarily seeing them yet from a financial stability standpoint.

The IMF is criticising the UK’s tax cut plan, the US is pressing EU countries to speed up and increase the financial support for Ukraine, and the head of crypto lender Celsius Network resigned on Tuesday. Plus, officials in Europe say suspicious leaks on two Russian gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea are likely the result of sabotage.
