Is There a Polish Intellectual in the 15th Century?

Poland is not well known for many intellectuals before the 20th century, where it had a number of interesting people. Leibnitz was talking about economics, he was talking about maths, and obviously he had this major astronomical discovery which he labored over whether he wanted to publish it or not. Then we had Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, he was an author, botanist, physicist, philosopher, lawyer, and geologist. Then there's Winston Churchill, he was a soldier, artist, Nobel laureate for literature, if you can imagine that. In 1953 he won the Nobel Prize for literature, Winston Churchill. I'd never heard of that before. But there you go,
