The Invisible Children's Coney 2012 Tour
The Ugandan beneficiaries, who often toured the United States with Invisible Children to share the video and attract donations harbored concerns that the group was being overly ambitious in their promises. It had been over a decade since the Coney 2012 viral sensation and Coney is still free and wanted for war crimes. The leader was going through a downward spiral and people were starting to turn against their entire premise. While they may have failed in their overall mission, Coney 2012's failure did open a conversation in the U.S. and European countries.
