A Neutron Star Is Not a Black Hole, Right?
From a distance, this thing is so close to an official black hole in terms of density that it acts almost like one. It's indistinguishable using our sensors from an actual black hole with a real event horizon. The gravity from a distance is the same as from any object of that mass. And because it is really, really dense, you could get close enough for the tidal forces to be very dramatic.
