A project called keep is trying to make big coin available on the aserium network through a process called rapping. The way they collateralize it is fully disintermediated, so there is no central custodian. There are stakers in the network who provide economic guarantees and lock up that big coin. But there is no bank or intermediary or regulated entity who's holding that big coin. So what i'm really talking about here is fully decentralized primitives, but don't involve an intermediary who confers.
