The Importance of Population Policy in New Zealand
As the population ages, we see a very significant exit out of the workforce. More over 65s are in paid work than in practically any other country in New Zealand apart from Japan. And so if you look at the US, for example, there are about 3 million people exited the workforce mostly in the older age groups during COVID.
