The Return of the Parthenon Marbles

When Byrne was 22, he became very ill. In June of 1783, he asked friends to make sure that after his death, his body would be buried at sea in a lead coffin. The Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons of England has been closed for about five years while undergoing a redevelopment process. And in January, it was announced that when the museum reopens in May, Byrne's skeleton will no longer be on display there. At this point, though, it is going to remain part of the museum's collection.
