Will Power and the Marshmellow Test
In the walter michel study with the marsh mellow test, kids can wait more than twice as long when there's a plate over them. In other words, rather than trying hard to exert will power and then failing, it's really about setting up your situation so that you don't even need to use will power. It just means that in those momentary conflicts between good for me verses a little easier for me.
