The Fourth Way to Improve Value in a Software Development Environment
The most important thing that management can do in a software development environment is figure out what the value is of what's being produced. Is it increasing revenues? It's decreasing costs? Is it decreasing risk? Increasing opportunity and put numbers on those measurements and compare them to what the cost is of doing those things. Even if it were just for one year, even if it werejust saving one million for a single year, it would still make sense.
