Guy Evans says the government should introduce a national heat risk strategy. It would focus on adapting our homes and offices to cope with hot weather. A survey of people who responded to last summer's dramatic heat wave said they felt that the system was on verge of collapse. If 40 degree temperatures have lasted a day or two more, we would have had widespread impacts because the system wouldn't occur.
