The Effect of Electing a Democratic Clerk on Presidential Elections

The main thing we're concerned about is that places that elect democrats orthe local election offices also are more likely to lect, or vote high and a higher rate. And so we need to come up with some way to account for that fact. We see that democratic clerks produce about the same democratic presidential vote share as republican clerks. So thereare actually quite a lot of places that, a, that are overwhelmingly vote for democrats or president, or overwhelmingly vote for republicans or president.
