Most humans have the capacity for love. Whether it is activated in any individual person such as you or anyone else is going to be adjusted by different social and cultural factors. In China historically there have been arranged marriages and then individual choice marriages. The arranged marriages tend to have higher break-up rates and lower child production than the ones that are voluntarily chosen.

David Buss is an evolutionary psychologist at UT Austin. He is one of the founders of the field of evolutionary psychology.
