Hayek's Abuse of Reason Project
Hayek says we need to have a system of stability, a possession, transference by consent and keeping promises. But in the formalism of the early 20th century, economists got rid of institutions. So all of a sudden, Hayek is like has to rediscover institutions as well. And then he gets to philosophical anthropology, like what is the norms that evolve? That's where you get this tension that Hayek has between our intimate order and our extended order.
