The Danes and the Normans in Dover

Danish fleet of 240 ships appeared off the coast of Dover and headed straight for the harbor town. Ordaric adds that it wasn't just Danes who were participating in this campaign. He says that Swain's army was multinational, with Poland, Frisia, Saxony, and Lithuania taking part as well. At least a part of those auxiliary troops were hired with English wealth.
