Introduction
Swiss air flight one one one, a mcdowell douglas m d 11, with 229 people on board, is at cruising altitude. About one hour into the flight, the captain and first officer think they smell smoke. The crew decides to land at a nearby airport and asks a t c to direct them to boston. But a t c suggests halifax, since it's much closer.
