Monica Washington, the 2014 Texas Teacher of the Year
Monica Washington is the 2014 Texas teacher of the year. She spent nine years teaching English to seventh graders in Memphis, Tennessee. Then she met a Texan and fell in love. The process by which Monica was selected as the top teacher in Texas started at her school then it just kept going through the state.
