Dorian Greek and the Mycenaeans
With ancient warfare undergoing a massive change, it was clear that there was an opening for a new kind of warrior or mercenary or bandit to arise from the ruins. And I want to briefly mention the Dorians. There is a theory that the Dorians came into the Peloponnese and conquered the Mycenaeans who lived there and possibly enslaved them. The Spartans were known to speak Dorian Greek. They are a whole interesting thing to look at on mainland Greece.
