The Red Wall of Watford
I was brought up speaking the language of printing, print works. We did our summer holidays with people from the factory. My grandparents worked at the factory as well. It was our life. But it closed down. There is a sort of an analogy with what happened in those communities in the north where industry was taken away and nothing was put back in their place. That's the red wall. I was told this was going to be my life because it was a decent job,. A secure sense of who you were, what job you were going to do.
